hearmyvoice This idea seems to be gaining momentum, and  you can help, ‘cause God knows, the people of Haiti needed help even BEFORE the earthquake.

Some VO industry stalwarts are donating their time in a teleseminar to help improve your opportunities in the area of AudioBooks.

The money gathered from people like you paying to be on the call is being donated to the Red Cross.

Click HERE to read the entire pitch on VoiceCoaches.com.

Oh, and on that site, you can just donate out of the goodness of your heart, if you haven’t already!

zurek …You can hear it in a teleseminar with James Alburger and Penny Abshire later this month.

Zurek is the visionary who launched VoiceOver Universe, and is quite an accomplished Voice Actor in his own right.

As James & Penny note:  “we secretly think he never sleeps”.

There’d be much to learn in this session, I’m sure.

voiceacting academy2 Numerous and heartfelt THANK YOU’s to James Alburger and Penny Abshire for providing me a soapbox for an hour-and-a-half on their sponsored free TeleSeminar Saturday 7.18.09 at noon.

Our collaboration to talk about “Can You Afford To Be Just a Voice Talent?” seemed to me, anyway a lively, fruitful, and informative discussion.  I didn’t hold anything back, and felt like I shared a lot of what makes me and my world tick.

We touched on many things, especially social networking, finding challenges in what you do, balancing different aspects of your career, meeting the demands of running your own business, how to approach on-camera work, and much much more.

I believe you can download an .mp3 recording of the TeleSeminar until July 26th on the VoiceActing.com website.  Please contact James and Penny using their website contact information if you have any questions about that.

During the call, I set up my FLIP video recorder on a tripod, began the recording, and forgot about it…not realizing that it ran out of battery power about 35-seconds later.  This, then, is the only salvageable portion of what I shot, and I humbly submit it here as not one of my best on-camera appearances.  But hey — ‘just trying to be transparent!

Please be sure to seriously consider attending VOICE 2010.  I’ll be along as a host of the event once more…this time sharing duties with my VO friend Bobbin Beam.

voiceacting academy2 Holy Buckets!  James and Penny tell me there are over 300 people signed up for the free Teleseminar Saturday!!!

You know what this means?….I’m gonna hafta actually think of some intelligent things to say. AND it means I’ll need to get up earlier than 10 mins before the call to clear the cobwebs.  Sheesh!  Whoda thunk that many people actually believed I had something worthwhile to say!

OK, well, I”m humbled, and I’ll be ready for whatever!…Let’s have fun.  I’m not holding anything back…if it’s in my head, it’s yours!

‘Still time to sign up HERE.

Collage of electronics Remember when I told you I had to go to Los Angeles for a day last weekend?  Well, my work from that day is done, and yet in a sense, it's just begun.

Try to get by NewMediaMinutes.com sometime today.  My partner in this venture: Joe Perez from ZealousMarketing.com promises to post my work today (Wed., 2-18-09).  It's a write-up on… a New Media venture.  You'll find an article, pictures, a video…even a podcast.

There should be more in the days and weeks ahead.  There are apparently plenty of New Media stories to tell.

For me, it's a bit of a departure from my core focus of voiceacting, but not really.  As I've blogged about before, good content will always be valued.  Be it print, video, voice, or other — and no matter the medium.

We're all aware of the technical skill that's required to be a successful voiceactor today.  In my search to become more competent at the electronic wizardry, I've also become enamored of the gizmos themselves…the New Media, if you will.  Enough so, Joe Perez believes, that someone may actually be interested in my impressions of the gizmos (with a measure of solid journalism behind it).

In the months ahead, we'll see if that's true.  In the meantime, I had to use a good portion of the skills I've learned here in the voiceacting world, to produce this blog content.  Podcasting, recording, editing, writing, interviewing, discerning, assimilating, and analyzing.

My first entry regards the marriage of network marketing to social media in the form of a company called VISALUS.

Let me kow what you think.
