Bettye Zoller tells it like it is.
She’s had plenty of experience to know HOW to tell it like it is…which is why it’s so great to know she’s decided to start blogging.

If China gets to make EVERYTHING…maybe all that’s left for us to do is VoiceOver.
The global marketplace is glowing, and why not? English is emerging as the language of commerce around the world. To market a product with a wide audience, at some point, you’re gonna want to put a proper English-speaking voice along with the product/service.
Giving the Brits their due for a piece of the pie, that leaves North America as the source of an authentic English sound.
No one preaches this marketplace more than Bettye Zoller. She’s been working this angle for years…maybe longer than anyone else.
In preparation for an upcoming Webinar on VoiceOverXtra.com, called “Foreign Job Sources for VO”, Bettye told me: “…for this webinar, I had to do serious research and even get help from foreign sources who gave me more input. It is the hardest research on a topic I’ve done for a long time and I hope as many people as possible will tune in…”
The Webinar is April 5th, the price is modest, and you get a download of the session when you’re done.

BTW, there’s a preview article of Bettye’s webinar on VoiceOverXtra, HERE.

‘A reminder to go back to Taj’s blog where he poses questions about what would be the perfect P2P site. (Taji’s Frankenstein Monster)
I referenced that BLOG a couple of days ago, and the responses have been many and thoughtful. Be sure to read through the commentss (and not just because I decided to run off at the keyboard).
Be especially sure to click on the link for Paul Strikwerda’s thoughts.

Bettye Zoller has a birthday this weekend.
Now might be a nice time to call or write her and wish her many more. ‘Course that might be kinda hard, ‘cause as usual…she’s probably working. The gal has more energy than most people half her age…
It’s hard to ignore the common-sense approach Bettye has to the business of Voice-Overs. She’s got the experience, the chutzpah, and the tempered reasoning to be a sought-after coach as well as an active talent. Her frequent posts on the Yahoo VO Forum are pure gold.
Click HERE to see info on her next class in Houston (she lives in nearby Dallas) instructing on the business of the VO business…i.e. making money.
Have a great weekend!

Sometimes we get so wrapped-up in the auditioning, and the marketing…keeping up with technology and making cold calls that we forget voice acting MUST be run like a business.
Sure we need to brush up on talent skills, but do you have a business plan? How do you track your financial progress? What’s your next goal?
Bettye Zoller is an ace talent, and well-recognized voice coach, but lately she’s got an axe to grind about keeping a good business sense about your BUSINESS of voiceovers.
See “below-the-fold” for some answers to a few questions I posed to Bettye about that, but even more so…saunter on over to THIS site, and sign up for a live webinar featuring Bettye next Thursday, November 19th.
The webinar is being expertly organized by John Florian’s VoiceOverXtra online resource. If you know Bettye at all, you know she doesn’t mince her words…and always speaks from a wealth of experience in a very frank and engaging manner. You will learn a lot!
HERE is a link to a FaceBook page with info too.

Voice actor/Voice coach Bettye Zoller raises an interesting issue in an online VO forum about how our auditions get used for other purposes than just job-seeking.
Read below to see her cautionary words on this topic.
Noted voice actor and coach Bettye Zoller is promoting a strong line-up for a once-a-year Guest Seminar workshop in Dallas, Sat Sun Sept 6-7.
She writes: “The workshop will feature major
name guests teachers and an expert panel too and plenty of personal attention
with ONLY TWENTY PEOPLE ADMITTED. I will
be releasing the names of the guests as I now have them signed to appear and a
few more will be forthcoming. They are top professionals and major players. This
weekend will be treasured by all who attend! Promise”.
She also says:
“And I’m even
offering a two-pay program where people save their spot in the weekend for only
$295 with the second payment due on or before Aug 25 ($200). We provide all
ground transport so no cabs needed or rent car and we even pick up people at
airport! It’s a very cheap trip flying Southwest Airlines to Dallas! And the
hotels average $80 per night too”.

Inevitably, whenever there’s a professional boxing match in Vegas (about every weekend, these days), the phrase “pound-for-pound” comes up.
As in: “Manny Pacquiao is fighting in the light featherweight division, but POUND-FOR-POUND he’s actually the best fighter in the world”
I actually got that quote off the page at THIS website.
See?
But this blog is about Dollar for Dollar, and I actually have a much nicer picture of someone below the fold, along with some great admonitions from a pro. Read on!
