‘Not sure if you saw this SNL skit, but take a moment to watch…it’ll bring a smile.
It reminds me of all those VO coaches who tell you to step outside your normal read — trying something off-the-wall — that then brings you back for a take that’s been changed by the whole experience.

Here in the Heartland, where agriculture is king, people collect old tractors like others might cherish old cars.
This guy has one of every model of Case Tractors ever produced, AND one of every lawn mower they ever made.

The pie not only looked good, it tasted great! This is what it looked like after we cut into it. With a little half ‘n’ half poured over the top, it was killer pie!
Watch out Las Vegas! Cape Girardeau, MO is about to open its first Casino on the Mississippi. (Home of Rush Limbaugh)
The “Bible” section in the local Barnes ‘n’ Noble store is extensive.
In just sayin’…. it was a big deal to allow gambling here. And the floor of the casino has to be floating on water somehow. So you have to cross a moat to get to the tables.

VO business and marketing master Bill DeWees was in Las Vegas for a quick weekend so we had lunch and of course, we had to go by and visit the Fry’s electronics store!

Sooner or later, most everyone makes it to Las Vegas.
Take Carolyn (CC) Petersen for example. Oddly enough, here’s a voice-over professional who travels around the world (just got back from Germany), but had never been to Vegas.
What drew her and her husband Mark to the desert Southwest? A solar eclipse. They viewed it Sunday evening from an optimal place in Southern Utah: Zion National Park.
CC is deeply involved in science presentations, especially astronomical ones. Sheesh, her and Mark have a mini-planetarium in their basement! She contracts out with the Smithsonian and does celestial presentations for tourists on cruise ships as they ply the waters of…well…everywhere there are oceans.
Not a bad gig, huh? And you thought voice-overs were limited to commercials, e-learning and radio imaging!
I thoroughly enjoyed their visit over vittles at the Peppermill in Las Vegas after my late news. Thanks CC!

That’s how long it takes to drive from Boise, Idaho to Las Vegas, NV in the ole Chevy SSR on desolate two-lane roads aided by a radar-detector. That’s where I’ll be today.
