AudioBoo

Unique name, but a nicely-devised program that marries the best of social media with audio.

This London-based company makes AudioBoo available on your browser, iPhone, or Android smartphone.  Regardless, the functionality is the same.

Record audio, match it with a picture, a place, some words…upload, post, cross-post to other social media platforms.  Share, podcast, follow, comment, get followers.  The program is pretty intuitive and it does a lot. You really need to visit and watch the video where they introduce its features.

BTW, my thanks to VO colleague Terry Daniel for tipping me off to this.  He, like me, wonders what AudioBoo could do for my VO brand, how it can help market my freelance voice acting business, how it can help to garner clients.

My guess would be much the same way other social media sites work in your favor:  you have to be consistent, personal, helpful, and interesting.  Your content has to be as good as your talent in delivering the goods.

I’ve blogged before about TweetMic, and how it could conceivably be used to build awareness of your VO brand…also FaceMic (same as TweetMic, only for FaceBook), but AudioBoo goes many steps beyond that.

The site seems to be pretty busy with a lot of traffic from Europe, and non-English speakers, but I’m fairly new to the site, and want to reserve judgement as to whether I can find kindred souls, or even client prospects on the app.
