Sometimes you can get lost in Social Media esoterica.  One must know where to draw the line in a return on investment of time.

Take Twitter, for instance…there are only a gazillion 3rd-party applications, add-ons, services, and plug-ins that can do everything but slop the pigs.  But which one BEST works for you and what you want to do?

Some months ago, I stumbled onto TweetLater…then later, they became Social Oomph. (love to know the story behind THAT name choice!).

I’m a paid subscriber to their service.  It posts a tweet everytime I blog.  I can choose the time and freqency I tweet certain things.  It autoresponds with a DM when someone follows me, and a WHOLE. LOT. MORE.

In fact, one of the cool things it does is aggregate in list-form, all the tweets from a certain search-term, and e-mails the list to me several times a day.  The list is as long or short as the number of times the term is used by tweeples.

From those entries, I can retweet, reply, DM, visit the person’s twitter page, click on links and pretty much anything else you could do from the standard Twitter API or Tweetdeck, etc.

Is it worth it?  I think so.  I’m not saying what the cost is, ’cause you can choose differrent packages…but this one works for me, and like I said it does a WHOLE. LOT. MORE.
