New VO Blogger

andyBoyns

‘Not sure why Andy Boyns captured my attention in the first place, but our ‘cross-the-pond relationship has grown, and staying with it has been a benefit to me in a very real and virtual way.

Andy is a native Englander who lives and works in Istanbul, Turkey.  That’s a picture of him with his son, William, a budding VO in his own right.

Boyns works harder at his VO liaisons than most people here stateside, and from what I can tell, he has a genuine passion to pursue this fine line of work until it fully supports him and his family.

Now, Andy writes that he has launched a VoiceOver blog, and it behooves me to support his effort. Click HERE to see his posts, and try to visit often.

While you’re there, consider clicking on the donor link for helping Andy make the trip to LA in June to join us for VOICE2010.  I hear SouthWest Airlines doesn’t fly to Istanbul, so his fare is likely going to be sizeable on Lufthansa or El Al.

Speaking of which, the early-bird deadline to save $100 on the VOICE2010 registration is now past, but I’ve got a buoyant feeling that James  Alburger and Penny Abshire are going to continue to find ways to make it worth your while to attend the event (like you’d need more incentive…it’s already the best possible VO value for networking, education, and technology).

I noticed Marc Cashman and other presenters joining in the call to arms for VOICE.  I’d sure hate for you to see all the chatter hitting the internet come the first week of June about how fantastic the conference is, and you, there, wishing you would’ve sprung for a ticket.

I’m jus’ sayin’

(Andy’s been having trouble entering comments to my blog, but wrote the following for posting here).

Not just ‘cross the pond, but an extra continent, too!

One must go session at VOICE2010 will be co-presented by Dave Courvoisier & Terry Daniel: “Building Your Voiceover Business Through Social Networking”.

As CourVO has demonstrated here, in supporting me, is that he is walking the walk and that Social Networking really does make a difference. I am excited with the way our connection has developed and look forward to the opportunities that this will bring us both, and all those who share in the thoughts and inspiration brought to all through this blog. Thanks Dave.

As I enter the blogosphere at http://andyboyns.com/vo/blog it occurred to me that amongst other advantages VOICE2010 will be a great opportunity to gather a collection of interviews for my blog; I should start to think up questions. So as suggested above try to visit often, I’ll do my best to make it worth your while.
