We voice actors tend to work alone…in isolation.  But the same technology that enables our new found freedom to work-where-we-wanna-work, also connects us in delightful, lightning-fast ways.

I've been blogging for almost a year now.

I had trepidation, and had to be convinced it might be to my marketing advantage.

I'll blog about what's come true and what's been disappointing, on my one year anniversary.

In the meantime, I want to salute my fellow voice-actor bloggers.

Recently, we compared notes, and decided to visit each other's blogs more often, commenting when we could, and generally supporting the effort we all make.

I dunno…how many other professions would encourage that?  That's another thing I found out at VOICE 2008: voice-actors are a particularly GIVING lot.

I have a blogroll in the right column over there with a long list of fellow bloggers.  Some are good writers, some don't post very often, and some prefer longer, shorter, more personal, or more technical missives.  All have a unique perspective to offer, and you'd do well to visit.

So here are the links of my favorite VO bloggers:

Bob Souer — the level of blogging achievement we all aspire to
Bobbin Beam — erudite, personal, helpful
James Lorenz — great life observations on EVERYthing
Kara Edwards — reflective, also personal, and always a nice narrative
Some Audio Guy (Juan Bagnell) — erudite, technical, quick witted
Jeffrey Kafer — hardest-working pro out there
Brian Haymond — smart, a facilitator, a connecting presence
Peter Drew — sharp as they come, always a good read
Liz de Nesnera — a blog with heart
Peter O'connell — a marketing genius, and top-notch writer/thinker
Rowell Gorman — his own man, good writer, funny thoughts
Caryn Clark — a sprite!…good writer…great energy
Tom Dheere — another marketing genius, and entrepeneur par excellence!
Stu Gray, Mary McKitrick, Elaine Singer, and so many more…

Again…all in the column to the right… read 'em…learn!  Comment to them, and tell 'em how much you appreciate their working for you!

  • Dave:
Thanks very much for the pub…very kind.
Yes voice talents ARE a very giving lot and in that spirit I’d like ask all VO’s for something to give to me…about $20. You see I’d like to go out for lunch today…a little bit nicer than Arby’s so if you could all get together and…
    What?
NOT that kind of giving?! Well then what am I going to do about LUNCH?!
    Sheesh!!
    PKO’C ;)
(CourVO says: What’s wrong with Arby’s??!! ‘Ate there myself yesterday! ;-} )

  • thanks for including me in such august company!
and give yourself plenty of credit for providing professional encouragement and useful information.
