Sorry for not posting something worthwhile for the last 24.  I’ve been busy trying to get my DAW up and running again since getting it back from the shop…

You forget how much stuff accumulates over the weeks and months on these things…  I didn’t lose much in the way of data ( a couple month’s worth of QuickBooks bookkeeping is all), but re-installing and reconfiguring all the little settings and nuances of many many programs is a daunting task once you wade into it.

Word to the wise:  back-up, back-up, back-up.  That’s an old and tired admonition, but SO SO true.  I keep a USB Hard Drive handy, but not necessarily hooked-up all the time (power outages, you know) just for back-up.  I also redundantly back-up some things online.

Once you get in the habit of backing-up, it’s painless and takes little time… but you sure do sleep better knowing….
